I will do everything in my power to complete your trophy in the estimated time given at the time of recite. I fully under stand the importance of getting your mount home for all to enjoy. But remember a quality job requires time and the highest quality for your trophy is the number one consideration for us. I will call you as soon as your piece is ready to come home.

DEPOSITS

A 50% deposit is required at the time of recite. The other 50% is payable at the time you pick up your mount. If a mount left or not picked up within thirty days after being notified will sold to recoup the costs incurred for mounting.

HELPFUL HINTS

If you intend to get a shoulder mount of your trophy deer, elk, caribou or other there are some things to remember.

  • 1. Never cut the throat of the animal.
  • 2. Do Not cut the hide up past the lower point of the sternum when gutting. At that point make a cut around body, then as straight as you can cut up the center of the back to base of the skull with your knife blade under the skin so you don’t cut the hair.  Take the hide off down to the lower leg and cut around each above the knee. You can now remove the head and cape in one piece. Remember to leave the testicles and penis attached to the carcass.
  • 3. Keep the cape or critter as dry as possible. If you need to put it in a cooler to keep cold wrap it in a plastic bag or two and tie them tightly to keep the water out.
  • 4. If you can’t get it to me the day it is taken wrap it in a plastic bag or two and tie them tightly and put in the freezer. Be sure to keep it frozen until you can deliver it.
If you intend to get a full body mount most of the same steps will need to be followed.
  • 1. On small game Do Not gut or field dress the animal.
  • 2. Put the entire animal in a plastic bag or two and keep it cool and get it to me or freeze it as soon as you can.
  • 3. If it is a large animal, make a small cut at the center of the back and as straight as you can cut up the middle of the back to the base of the skull with the knife blade under the skin so you don’t cut the hair. Now follow the directions in step number 2., 3., and 4. above. Remember to leave the feet attached to the hide. Just cut them off at the ankle
If you intend to get a bird mounted again Do Not gut or field dress it.
  • 1. Try to keep all the blood off the feathers.
  • 2. To keep the feathers from being bent or broken a nylon stocking works very well. Just slides the bird in head first making sure the tail is all the way in and tie the top.
  • 3. Just follow steps 3. and 4. above.
CARE OF YOUR TROPHY

Here are a few tips that will help your trophy and give you many years of enjoyment.

  • 1. Never put your mount above a fireplace you frequently use. The smoke and heat will damage it.
  • 2. Never put or store your trophy in a damp environment.
  • 3. Never hang your mount in direct sunlight. This will fade or damage the skin and fur.
